Feeling the Love
It's Valentine's Day, and Jeff finds the expectation that he has to buy me a card to be completely debilitating. But never fear! My friends have sent me lots of love recently: skin care products, head scarves, cookies from Daily Harvest, Valentine's socks, Oatly for my coffee, a f**k cancer mug, and a kick-ass playlist. My mom even got me a Moondragon trading card. And Julia made me this amazing poster. (Note that she included hairstyle inspiration in the form of a bald lady with fancy earrings and a mermaid with a "pixie cut.")
This morning, Claire told me I was her best Valentine ever. She also gave me her cold. To her credit, she's been diligent about washing her hands using our exciting new hand-washing timer, but unfortunately she has a tendency to sneeze in my face when I'm about to hug her. A risk I'm willing to take. 💕

It got them vaguely interested in washing their hands for 20 seconds, and brushing their teeth for 2 minutes. I think the effect is already fading.
I can roll my Valentines responsibilities into our Anniversary, which is shortly after. Why celebrate love twice, when you can do it once? Not that I do any better for our Anniversary, but I get through today feeling not entirely horrible.
ReplyDeleteJami, as usual, proposed a solution in the form of something I don't mind doing so much: making our old weekend brunch meal. So it's Egg Mash tonight.
Egg Mash failed. I mean, I did awesome, but the food failed. Jami has lost some of her sense of taste and is now incapable of eating spicy stuff (which is essential for Egg Mash, which must be doused in Crystal). I enjoyed it.
DeleteWhere can I get my hands on a "fcuk cancer" mug?
ReplyDeleteHow about a pair of these? https://www.amazon.com/Fuck-Cancer-Socks-Survivor-Awareness/dp/B06XHXC5XJ/ref=cts_ap_1_vtp
