NYC!

I postponed my last chemo by one day so that I could take Julia to New York City.  I've had this trip planned since before my breast cancer diagnosis.  When my oncologist told me my treatment plan, my first thought was, "But will I still be able to go to New York?"

The trip was a surprise birthday present for Julia, so she just found out a couple weeks ago.

The theme of our trip turned out to be sugar.  We went to not one, not two, but three fancy chocolate shops.  And Dylan's Candy Store.  And Alice's Tea Cup.  And we had to get the "crazy shake" from Black Tap Burgers.

We also went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Central Park Zoo, the top of the Empire State Building, the Children's Museum of the Arts, the Brooklyn Bridge, the Lego store, the American Girl store, and the Gershwin Theater to see Wicked.  Julia is now a pro at hailing taxis and navigating the subway.  She said New York is "magical" and can we please come back in, like, a year and a half?

It was a great trip despite forgetting Julia's carry-on and leaving my Kindle on the plane.  (Chemo brain?)  Now that I'm exhausted from traveling and eating junk food, it seems like the perfect time to have my last chemo and walk in a runway show.
